Lead Developer, Development - Index Technology will be responsible for the solution design and delivery of building new Index services in support the governance and management of Indices, operational and audit requirements.

The remit for this role is a part of the wider programme to build solutions to fit in target state index platform and achieving strategic objectives of the Client Index business.


Role Responsibilities

  • Work within your team to understand technology and business objectives and elaborate the technical design and target state architecture
  • Help define local engineering best practices and assist the team in understanding and following them efficiently
  • Design and implement new services to support daily operations of Index business teams
  • Drive the migration of capabilities from databases to a service layer design, refactoring of the databases to support the creation of Index operational data store
  • Provide technical leadership to the team, assisting with solution design, architecture alignment, handling escalations and resolving blockers
  • Build verification, validation and troubleshooting tools to support Index operations
  • Responsible for end-to-end scoping, planning, development, testing and implementation
  • Support IM teams to meet regulatory requirements, governance, polices and standards
  • Build and mentor the performance and development of a team of developers across regions and third-party consultants
  • Act as a key tech point of contact for Index services.


Technical/ job functional knowledge

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electronics / Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Significant experience in software development methodologies and Agile based delivery
  • Proven experience of leading the design, planning, management and delivery of API and services interfaces
  • Experience in working on data management and data focused projects
  • Significant experience in programming languages (C#, Java or Python), data serialisation, RDBMS and ideally some NoSQL
  • Experience in building re-usable code, data assets, defining and implementing software engineering best practices & code frameworks.
  • Good experience in AWS or Azure preferred
  • Some experience of Business and Technical Analysis, Quality Assurance, Planning and Delivery Management.

Leadership & management experience

  • This is a technical leadership role
  • Experience in professional technical thought leadership
  • Experience in managing third party delivery team would be preferred.
