Project description

This Software Engineer role is accountable for contributing within a product team for the solution design, implementation & delivery of Pharma R&D Tech systems using cutting-edge technologies. Software Engineer will be working in alignment with Agile and DevOps, in close contact with Architects, Agile Facilitators, Product Owners and Engineering Manager. 

Your tasks

  • Be the part of big product-oriented engineering team (>15 GSK employees and >50 contractors) and work with others to create and build software solutions for thousands of scientists
  • Collaborate with multiple software vendors (both key players in IT market and Pharma-specific oriented organizations) to release and integrate newest solutions, that will speed up Drug Discovery
  • Develop yourself in one of many Tech directions (like API, Cloud, Machine Learning, Containerization, interaction with Lab equipment) and learn modern, as well as unique technologies and do software development and integration work, keeping close contact with stakeholders and customers
  • Be ready to keep learning and using your skills to design and test innovative solutions, both in integration, backend, data exchange or UI

Who we're looking for?

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Computer Science or related bachelor’s degree desirable (although relevant experience is equally valued)
  • Ready to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies, with commitment towards personal development
  • 1-3 years of hands on experience in IT, with exposure to some of the following technologies:
  • DevOps & Testing Automation (e.g. Jenkins, Selenium, Azure DevOps or similar)
  • Software development (.NET) and architecture design (SOA, API, Microservices)
  • Containerization technologies (e.g. Docker and Kubernetes)
  • Cloud solutions (Azure or GCP are preferred)
  • Data management / architecture

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Experience with ITIL
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with data structures (i.e. information management), data models or relational database design
  • Experience with Bioinformatics of Chemistry Science
