Smoobu empowers everyday people to become successful entrepreneurs by helping them manage their vacation rentals simply and efficiently. Its platform supports over 100,000 properties in 120+ countries, enabling hosts to grow their businesses with confidence.
We are swiftly evolving the Smoobu platform into a cloud-native, service-oriented architecture driven by AI. We are transforming our engineering team into a highly capable tech organization that thrives on individual autonomy, innovation and fast feedback loops. In this role, you will be part of the Core Engagement team, driving customer success by developing products that maximize host and guest satisfaction, like guest communication solutions, guest guides, and managing online check-in.
Responsibilities
- Autonomously plan and execute quarterly or multi-quarter complexity projects, set measurable milestones and manage complex dependencies and scope
- Partner closely with business stakeholders to refine product direction, recommend impactful improvements delivering customer value, and strengthen feedback loops
- Propose and implement tangible technical initiatives improving team velocity and overall software quality, and mentor your colleagues
- Continuously improve the way we use AI-assisted and agentic coding, hit impossible goals and make it new normal
- Contribute in transforming Smoobu Tech into a cloud-native, service-oriented architecture

Requirements
- Solid experience in backend development (PHP/Symfony)
- Expertise in relational and non-relational databases
- Good knowledge of cloud platforms (preferably AWS)
- Familiarity of Docker and containerized environments
- Experience in designing and working with event-driven, asynchronous and integration-heavy systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to drive technical solutions in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in AI-assisted software development, including agentic coding tools and workflows
- Entrepreneurial mindset and business curiosity
- Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work efficiently in a distributed, multinational team
Nice to have
- Experience with layered architectures, CQRS patterns, Domain-Driven Design principles
- Full stack engineering experience, including infrastructure, frontend
