Role Overview

As a QA Automation Engineer, you will work on a development team that builds security-master subsystems for HedgeServ that model financial securities, maintain accurate up-to-date securities data, integrate with numerous external data vendors, and feed data to applications serving internal and external clients. You will develop and maintain automated test suites to comprehensively test real-world, end-to-end business scenarios, collaborating with other engineers to ensure delivery of robust, high-quality software. This is a software engineering role focused on solving problems through test development, architecture, process, and interpretability.

About the Team

The Security Master Development team is based out of the US and Sofia, BG and consists of 5-10 engineers working closely with business analysts and stakeholders to develop a comprehensive security master solution serving all HedgeServ clients. We have strong technical proficiency in python backend-development, distributed service architectures, databases, and AWS. We have strong business proficiency in the modeling of financial instruments including listed instruments, derivatives, swaps, and syndicated credit and in the products offered by external data vendors like Bloomberg, Refinitiv, S&P Global and more.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business stakeholders to develop testing requirements and test plans for new features.
  • Create and extend automated test scenarios using Python, Pytest, Playwright, and Gherkin Behavior-Driven-Development tools.
  • Triage and troubleshoot regressions in the automated test scenarios and collaborate with team members on solutions.
  • Implement improvements to testing methodologies to improve accuracy, performance, and coverage of regression tests.
  • Design and maintain test fixtures, tools and utilities to extend the team's testing capabilities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience writing Python code.
  • 1+ years of experience with test-driven-development (TDD) or behavior-driven-development (BDD).
  • Experience using Web UI test/automation frameworks such as Playwright or Selenium.
  • Experience with Git.

Nice to have:

  • Degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with AWS and running software in the cloud.
  • Familiarity with writing basic queries for SQL and/or MongoDB databases.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration technologies like AWS CodeBuild, Jenkins, or Github Actions.
