Role Overview

We are looking for a new Head of the Security Team to join our mission to create a #CyberFit future. This role reports directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and involves leading an international team of approximately 20 people. You will be accountable for all aspects of security for our production and corporate environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, maintain, and monitor the organization’s information security strategy, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO/IEC 27001).
  • Oversee the deployment, integration, and initial configuration of all new security solutions.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Security team and other departments.
  • Provide guidance to Product Management and R&D on security product requirements, customer expectations, and product roadmaps.
  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies.
  • Develop and manage the Information Security department’s budget.
  • Regularly report on the organization’s security status to senior management.
  • Interact closely with Research and Development teams and other employees within the Acronis Group.
  • Manage an international team of security professionals across multiple time zones.

Qualifications

  • 10-15 years of experience in Information Security, with at least 6-8 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Ability to analyze complex security issues, trends, and data, create actionable plans, and effectively communicate rationale to senior leadership.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presenting complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of technical and compliance issues for a SaaS and on-premise security product company.
  • Proven experience in handling and leading incident response efforts, especially for critical incidents.
  • Proven experience in overseeing and managing a bug bounty program, including coordination with external researchers, handling vulnerability reports, and ensuring proper remediation processes.
  • High level of integrity and ethical behavior in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to develop long-term security strategies that align with business goals.
  • Strong internal and external customer focus with a desire to learn all aspects of the business.
  • High level of discipline, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding organizational, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.
