As a part of the Reinsurance Life and Health Tower you are responsible for RI Life and Health Solution Delivery. We drive the transformation of project delivery and product management for RI Life and Health business units across North and South America, Europe, and Asia.

In the data and digital section, we are responsible for data-driven, automation, and digital initiatives in the Reinsurance Life and Health businesses. By leveraging innovative technologies such as data analytics and AI, we develop and support solutions for both client-facing and internal operations.

As an Architect for Advanced Analytics, embedded in a team of cross functional solution architects, you will lead the data definitions as well as support the design and engineering of highly appropriate, tightly integrated, flexible and fault-tolerant data repositories and systems with the lens of a consistent end to end data architecture and high data quality. You will moreover support data governance in the design of the required governance, management, and operational processes around data quality for the overall data strategy implementation of an integrated and regulatory compliant data ecosystem.

How you will get the job done

• designing, developing, and implementing scalable, secure cloud-based architectures for data solutions, ensuring high availability and performance (e.g., Azure, Databricks, Kubernetes)
• designing modular platform architectures that integrate both current and emerging technologies
• designing platform architectures with deliberate modularity and abstraction boundaries that accommodate the integration of technologies not yet available or only existing as research prototypes
• defining enterprise data models and end-to-end data architecture — from ingestion through transformation to consumption, ensuring consistency, lineage traceability, and fitness for analytics and AI workloads
• supporting the design and operationalization of data governance processes including data quality frameworks, data cataloging, ownership models, and stewardship workflows, aligned with the overall data strategy
• implementing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for efficient and automated model deployment and updates
• maintaining comprehensive architecture documentation, including design patterns, best practices, and cloud service configurations
• ensuring platform architecture complies with industry standards and regulations and integrates best practices for data privacy and security
• continuously evaluating emerging technologies (including new AI/ML products, novel data processing paradigms, and next-generation cloud services) for their potential to enhance the analytics platform, and translating evaluations into actionable architectural recommendations
• working closely with development teams, business stakeholders, and other architects to ensure seamless integration of data, AI, and cloud services into the overall application landscape

• fluency in English
• University degree in Computer Science or a related field
• several years of experience in IT architecture with focus on data solutions and AI technologies
• proven experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and familiarity with services like data lakes, cloud storage, containerization, and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• demonstrated track record of evaluating and integrating emerging technologies at early maturity stages
• strong experience in data architecture and data modeling across the full data lifecycle; familiarity with architecture frameworks (e.g., C4, arc42) and data lineage tooling
• experience with data governance practices, data quality management, and familiarity with data cataloging and metadata management tools
• deep understanding of cloud security principles, encryption, access control, and regulatory compliance requirements
• solid understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices
• proficiency in Python/R, with experience in AI/ML libraries (e.g., Hugging Face, OpenAI, Langchain) and PowerBI
• familiarity with core LLM techniques like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI databases, etc.
• active engagement with the evolving AI/ML landscape, including awareness of developments beyond current production frameworks (e.g., agentic systems, advanced reasoning architectures, next-generation data processing paradigms)
• excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• adaptive mindset: proven ability to rapidly assimilate new technology paradigms, pivot architectural approaches when the landscape shifts, and make sound design decisions under technological uncertainty

Nice to have

• German language skills are a strong advantage, but not required
• experience with serverless architectures is a plus
