Staff Software Engineer, New Markets Middle East

Accountabilities:- Architect and design scalable, high-performance software systems, setting technical direction and establishing engineering best practices
- Lead complex, multi-team initiatives from concept to delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and quality standards
- Define and implement event-driven architectures, APIs, and distributed systems to support financial infrastructure at scale
- Ensure systems meet reliability, scalability, and regulatory compliance requirements across Middle Eastern markets
- Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and external vendors to align software architecture with regional deployment and operational needs
- Drive performance optimization, identify bottlenecks, and implement long-term solutions to improve system efficiency
- Establish coding standards, testing strategies, and quality benchmarks across the engineering organization
- Mentor engineers at all levels, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Contribute to organizational strategy by influencing engineering processes, technical roadmaps, and cross-functional initiatives
- Lead documentation efforts, knowledge sharing, and technical discussions to support scalable and maintainable systems

Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong track record of building and scaling complex production systems
- Expert-level proficiency in Go or similar backend programming languages, with deep knowledge of system design and architecture
- Extensive experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous processing patterns
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern infrastructure practices
- Proven ability to lead large-scale, cross-team technical initiatives and influence engineering strategy at an organizational level
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex system-wide issues
- Experience establishing coding standards, testing frameworks, and quality assurance practices
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience mentoring engineers and driving knowledge-sharing initiatives across teams
- Familiarity with financial systems, fintech environments, or regulatory frameworks is a plus
- Willingness to travel occasionally within the Middle East region for strategic alignment and on-site collaboration
