Client is looking to hire a dedicated Product Manager to lead their SaaS platform function. The platform currently serves 35 tenants and is scaling, with increasing demand from larger enterprise clients. This is a leadership role with both strategic and delivery ownership.
What They Need
A product and delivery leader who can own the SaaS platform backlog end-to-end, drive definition and prioritisation, and lead a dedicated engineering team. The person needs to be strong on stakeholder engagement — internally across product and engineering, and with senior business stakeholders — but should operate at platform level rather than being client-facing. Client-facing cloud operations is handled separately.
The SaaS environment runs on Azure in a single-tenanted model (per client) to ensure config and data segregation. All tenants run on a single version, so version management and the release pipeline are critical. The platform uses a multi-ring deployment model (Dev, Test, etc.) with automated testing, patching, and rollback capability. Xceptor are DORA-driven in methodology but acknowledge they are not yet where they want to be on release frequency and quality — the target is monthly releases. Reducing key person dependency is a stated priority.
a) Own the platform backlog and release plan
b) Lead and coordinate the dedicated SaaS engineering team
c) Drive definition and requirements with internal stakeholders
d) Operate at platform level — not expected to be across individual client activity (that sits with Cloud Ops)
e) Improve DORA metrics and move toward high-frequency, high-quality releases
Profile
a) Minimum 10 years of experience as PM preferably with product company
b) Strong product management background with hands-on experience in cloud-hosted SaaS platform delivery.
c) Needs credibility in Azure-based environments, CI/CD pipeline thinking, and multi-tenant (or single-tenant-at-scale) architecture.
d) Leadership and communication skills are as important as technical fluency — this is not a pure engineering role.
