ROLE SUMMARY:

The Rights Management Engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer who shares our principles. You will design and build secure and scalable solutions which meet our customers’ needs. You know that applications are not static and must evolve over time as technology and standards change. You are not afraid to dive deep – writing code, defining standards around CI/CD, maximizing automation, observability and supportability whilst making sure solutions are cost effective. A confident communicator, you will lead with data when collaborating with stakeholders. You will lead by example and mentor more junior engineers to grow.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Designing optimized solutions which meet product requirements and conform to evolving enterprise standards
  • Coding secure, efficient, and effective solutions
  • Designing and building solutions using Microsoft Azure and AWS capabilities
  • Adopting DevOps principles to code, build and implement solutions
  • Providing support for applications in line with agreed product SLAs – including some on-call
  • Ensuring that solutions conform to LSEG test strategy standards
  • Working with Product Owners to understand and refine requirements
  • Working to support squads to provide accurate estimations for delivery
  • Providing clear and concise communications to the squad and stakeholders
  • Inspiring and mentoring more junior engineers

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • 3+ years of Software Engineering experience using
    • C# .NET (classic, asp, core) ideally using Entity Framework
    • Databases - Relational and NoSQL
    • UI development using JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular
    • CI/CD processes using Gitlab
    • Terraform IaC
  • Desirable: Some experience in one or more of

    • Python, Java
    • Atlassian’s tooling stack including JIRA & Confluence
    • DataDog, BigPanda, Service Now
    • Test Driven Development
  • Demonstrable experience of building applications in Public Cloud – ideally Microsoft Azure

  • Ability to design and explain solutions to complex problems

  • Motivation, self-starting and a ‘can do’ attitude

  • Strong written and spoken communication skills

  • An enthusiasm to learn new technology and approaches

  • Cloud certification or preparedness to undertake it

  • An understanding of the financial information domain is desirable

  • A desire to collaborate effectively with stakeholders
