Applied Deep Learning Research Intern, Vision Language Models and Computer Graphics - 2026

Today, NVIDIA is tapping into the unlimited potential of AI to define the next era of computing. An era in which our GPU acts as the brains of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can understand the world. Doing what’s never been done before takes vision, innovation, and the world’s best talent. As an NVIDIAN, you’ll be immersed in a diverse, encouraging environment where everyone is inspired to do their best work. Come join the team and see how we can make a lasting impact on the world. We are seeking highly motivated intern candidates who are passionate about the latest AI technologies that revolutionize computer vision, large vision language models (VLMs), and computer graphics. Our world-class team at NVIDIA, distributed across Finland, Germany, The Netherlands, and the USA, pioneered DLSS technologies, Megatron-LM, Nemotron-Nano VLM and recently released post-training datasets.

At the forefront of real-time graphics, we explore innovative ways to harness deep learning for transformative applications - or push the limits of large vision-language models to reach new frontiers. As an applied research group, our top priority is delivering tangible value and solving real-life problems. We believe the most exciting part of the Deep Learning revolution is seeing its applications deployed at scale. If you share this pragmatic, delivery-focused approach, our team will be a perfect fit!

What you will be doing:

  • Apply Deep Learning to solve concrete product-related problems. Depending on your skills and interests, you will be contributing to either advancing state-of-the-art VLMs or DLSS technologies.
  • Work with large-scale datasets encompassing text, code, images, and videos to train foundation models.
  • Develop robust data processing pipelines to curate high-quality training data.
  • Collaborate globally with team members, researchers, and developers from various departments at NVIDIA.

NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers. We have some of the most forward-thinking and hardworking people in the world working for us. If you're creative and autonomous, we want to hear from you!

What we need to see:

  • Pursuing MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering or related field, with courses followed in the area of machine learning, Deep Learning, probability theory or statistical signal processing and algorithms
  • Hands-on coding skills with PyTorch, Python, C/C++ and Linux bash scripting expertise A strong interest in AI and experience with one or ideally both:

  • Deep learning research or applied research in computer vision, generative AI or large vision language models;

  • Computer graphics and real-time rendering, e.g. engine development, ray tracing/path tracing and image reconstruction

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • An academic track record and publications
  • Knowledge of CUDA programming
  • Any AI-related projects which you can present to us
