- 6-8 years of hands on engineering experience in Linux systems kernel level work or vulnerability research
- 3-5 years of experience in C debugging low level memory analysis or system level debugging
- Strong experience in Linux kernel internals module development or patch development
- Solid understanding of secure coding practices vulnerability patterns and exploit mitigation strategies
- Experience with GDB ftrace perf or other kernel debugging tools
- Familiarity with kernelorg patch submission conventions formatting signoffs commit messages
- Ability to analyze complex issues independently and produce high quality deliverables within SLAs
- Strong written English communication skills especially in technical documentation and patch annotation
Responsibilities
1 Vulnerability Triage Classification
- Analyze and categorize incoming Linux kernel vulnerabilities based on validity impact and complexity
- Maintain high triage accuracy with minimal false negatives aligned with customer quality metrics
- Contribute to improving backlog triage velocity
2 Patch Development Validation
- Develop secure high quality kernel patches addressing validated vulnerabilities
- Complete patch delivery within defined Time to Patch TTP SLAs for medium complexity issues
- Ensure patches pass automated CICD Commit Checks with a high first pass acceptance rate
3 Kernel Debugging Regression Prevention
- Conduct root cause analysis debugging and validation of kernel crashes memory corruptions and other low level issues
- Validate patches rigorously to prevent regressions and maintain sandbox stability
- Document and share debugging insights with the team
4 AI Generated Patch Review Annotation
- Review AI generated code fixes for correctness safety logical soundness and security gaps
- Provide structured annotations syntax logic security flaw etc that contribute to model improvement
- Maintain strong annotation depth and quality scores
5 Collaboration Process Excellence
- Work closely with the Kernel Security Lead and POD team to meet delivery goals and quality metrics
- Contribute technical insights to improve triage workflows patch templates and debugging best practices
- Interact with cross-functional teams as needed no direct customer ownership required
