How you’ll make an impact

  • Design, develop and maintain software solutions for training, deploying and managing the lifecycle of Machine Learning Solutions.
  • Propose and work on ideas and concepts of new approaches to solving optimization or control problems with business impact, turn them into prototypes and verify them.
  • Where necessary, development and release of software to integrate specific AI/ML solution into products / tools / processes.
  • Design data fabric / pipeline architectures to manage data for use in machine learning, artificial intelligence and automation applications.
  • Define and apply state-of-the-art software engineering practices and tools (SW configuration management, static analysis, unit tests and beyond).
  • Collaborate with a global team of researchers and engineers, both within the Hitachi Energy HVDC Research and Development department, and with other teams across the Hitachi Energy organization to identify and solve real-world challenges.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of state-of-the-art software development trends and technologies, particularly those relating to machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Share your knowledge and experience with other team members.

Your background

  • Master's degree or equivalent industrial experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or any related field.
  • Programming experience in multiple of C#, Python and related libraries and tech stacks.
  • Software engineering expertise across the whole software development lifecycle.
  • Ability to conduct all phases of a software project – conceptual work, design, prototyping and verification.
  • Working with structured and unstructured databases (SQL, Postgres, TimescaleDB, NoSQL).
  • Experience in architecting performant, scalable and extendable software solutions.
  • Experience demonstrating your ability to work in a team, your creativity, and your motivation for self-development.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication in English.
