As the new Android Engineer in Vinted’s Magic Team, you will have the opportunity to work on initiatives that shape the future of shipping and purchasing. Our team is dedicated to creating seamless, efficient, and innovative solutions for our members, and we're looking for a talented engineer to join us on this journey.
About the Role:
In this role, you will be part of our cross-functional Magic Team within the Purchase domain, focusing on elevating our shipping experience. You will contribute to ongoing and exciting initiatives such as:
- Modularizing our current architecture to support scalability and efficiency.
- Extracting shipping estimation logic to create separate, specialized services.
- Striving for operational excellence.
- Collaborating on the purchase domain's technical vision and strategy.
As an Android Engineer, you will have the opportunity to:
- Enhance and shape features within the Android platform that improve the pre-shipping experience for Vinted members.
- Work closely with a diverse team, including mobile engineers, web engineers, backend engineers, QA specialists, a Product Manager, a Product Designer, and a Decision Scientist.
- Implement product changes and modularize our codebase, contributing to Vinted's mission of making second-hand fashion the preferred choice worldwide.
- Stay informed on the latest Android advancements and proactively integrate best practices into your work.
In this position, you’ll
- Collaborate effectively with product management and cross-functional stakeholders throughout the Android development lifecycle.
- Design, develop, and implement innovative features and enhancements.
- Lead technical solutions that impact beyond your immediate team.
- Engage in code reviews and collaborative development using GitHub.
- Monitor deployed code through tools like Kibana, Grafana, and DataDog.
- Take ownership of Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) within the product team.
- Partner across teams to prioritize and deliver impactful results.

Hybrid Work
We’ve adopted a hybrid workplace model where 2 days in the office are recommended but not enforced. It’s up to you and your team to decide on the exact days you’ll spend working together in person.
The salary range for this position is € 3,558 - € 4,808 gross per month.
About you
- You have practical experience in Android product engineering and a deep understanding of the Android architecture, framework, and application layers.
- Proficient in Kotlin and/or Java, with knowledge of Jetpack Compose.
- You thrive in cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- You possess strong problem-solving skills and an eagerness to improve existing systems proactively.
- You are always aiming high, never settling for the status quo, and motivated by complex challenges.
- You can balance product and technical initiatives, delivering impactful results for the business.
- You are familiar with system architecture, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) concepts.
- You have strong quality focus and experience with Android-native tests.
- You actively contribute to quarterly tech track planning, providing insights on prioritization.
