New Product Development Quality Engineer
The New Product Development (NPD) Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the flawless launch of new products by driving compliance with internal procedures and customer-specific requirements. This role acts as a key quality gatekeeper during the development lifecycle, from prototype to series production handover. The engineer will lead cross-functional problem solving, manage corrective actions, support APQP activities, and coach operational quality teams.
General Responsibilities
- Responsible for flawless Launch of new products.
- Initiate and manage all corrective actions required during launch
- Full adherence with all NPD 4.0 process and procedures
- Obtain and flow down customer specific requirements to launch team
- Conducts the planning, implementing and managing compliance of manufacturing and production processes with internal and external safety, quality and regulatory standards requirements for worldwide distribution
- Handles design methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products
- Conducts analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary
- Develops methods for testing, sampling and training
- May act as internal consultant by providing technical guidance on most complex projects
- Works with quality inspection supervisors to train and oversee inspectors in their use of control forms, procedures, and correcting quality problems
Additional Responsibilities
- Lead problem solving activities cross functionally within Sensata and the customer
- Coach and mentor Operational Quality Engineers at make site
- Monitor post launch phase with make site Operational Quality Engineers to capture lessons learned and effect a controlled handover
- Designs, implements, and maintains quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished or finished products
- Conducts the planning, implementing, and managing compliance of manufacturing and production processes with internal and external safety, quality and regulatory standards requirements for worldwide distribution
- Handles design methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products
