Celonis’ product design is part of the Product & Engineering team; It’s our mission to create exceptional enterprise software that enables businesses to optimize their processes using the Celonis Process Intelligence Platform. Our team of designers, writers and researchers collaborates closely with product management, engineering, and business experts to develop valuable and user-friendly solutions for our global clientele.

As a product designer focussing on AI, you will also be part of the CeloAI team, which develops and integrates cutting-edge AI/ML technologies into Celonis products. The goal is to empower enterprises to make intelligent business decisions and achieve operational excellence. This is critical to establish Celonis's competitive advantage in execution management, ensuring our customers benefit from both exceptional user experiences and cutting-edge AI capabilities.
The Role:
As a Product Designer (Artificial Intelligence), you will contribute to shaping the product experience for AI-powered products within the Celonis platform. This includes how AI tools are created, configured, deployed, and managed by customers. Collaborate closely with seasoned designers to overcome challenges and expand your expertise.
Celonis has released the first instances of GenAI tools to high customer demand and positive response. Following the initial releases, the team is building out a portfolio of AI capabilities that work across Celonis, as standalone tools, as well as integrated tooling within the larger enterprise ecosystem. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and seasoned designers and researchers to deliver intuitive and user-friendly experiences.
Your role is important in advocating for the user, understanding the business problems and opportunities from a user-centric perspective, and translating solutions into a user experience that can be validated, implemented, and successfully deployed to customers.
The work you’ll do:
As a Product Designer (Artificial Intelligence), you will be both a problem solver and creative interaction designer. You will support Senior Designers and Product Managers in identifying the right AI/ML driven solutions and specify UX and UI requirements accordingly e.g. assisting with user research, creating low-fidelity prototypes for initial concepts or finalising high quality designs for implementation. Additionally, you will design and prototype components and interactions, and work closely with engineers to implement them.
You will contribute to the user experience of our key user journeys for AI/ML enabled products and tools that enhance process mining and drive process improvement. Contributing to the Celonis design system, you'll focus on AI-related components and patterns, learning and applying design standards for AI interactions. You will collaborate with UX researchers to understand the needs of our customers as they utilize our AI/ML capabilities to gain valuable insights and optimize their processes.
As the Product Designer, you will be responsible for parts of the design process, from concept to user interface. You will work closely with product managers and engineers to ensure the best possible experience for our users as they interact with our AI/ML powered products. Your ability to collaborate effectively with different stakeholders and switch between domains will be crucial to your success in this role.

The qualifications you need:
- Educational Background: A strong background in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Information Design, Data Design, Communication Design, or a related field
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a UX/UI Designer within a software team
- Domain Experience: Prior experience working in the B2B or enterprise software sector is essential for this role
- Skills: Strong understanding of process visualization, interaction design, usability engineering, and testing principles. Hands-on experience creating complex and interactive data visualizations
- Adaptability: Comfortable driving clarity in ambiguous situations and thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Language & Communication Skills: Excellent English communication skills; German communication skills are a plus. Able to present ideas and reasoning convincingly to stakeholders
- Design System: Familiarity in working with and contributing to Design Systems in Figma
- User-centricity: Deep empathy for users and a user-centered design approach, with a keen eye for improving product usability
- Strong portfolio: Showcasing your design capabilities and problem-solving skills
Preferred qualifications:
- Interaction/Technical Expertise: Familiarity with basci AI/ML concepts, frameworks, and technologies (e.g., natural language processing, machine learning, generative/agentic AI), with the ability to translate such concepts into intuitive and user-friendly interfaces, designing AI-driven interactions, with a focus on conversational interfaces and other emerging AI interaction patterns
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the AI product landscape and emerging AI trends
