About the Opportunity
You will be a key contributor to the future of our data platform. You will be responsible for building and improving the core systems that unlock value from our data as we grow. We are looking for a passionate engineer who enjoys building reliable data solutions and collaborating in a fast-paced environment. Your impact will come from tackling technical challenges and working effectively with the team to deliver high-quality results.
What you will do
As a Data Engineer on our Data Platform team, you'll be a key hands-on contributor to the evolution of our data platform. Your focus will be on building and improving the core systems that power data at MoonPay.
- Contribute to the design and development of our data platform, including real-time streaming with Kafka and Pub/Sub, orchestration with Airflow, and data warehousing with BigQuery and dbt.
- Improve and scale our existing data pipelines and infrastructure, with a focus on enhancing reliability, performance, and governance
- Write high-quality, well-tested code using Python and SQL, and manage our cloud infrastructure effectively using Terraform (IaC)
- Support the full lifecycle of data projects, from contributing to planning and estimation through to successful implementation and delivery
- Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and data science teams to understand their needs and deliver reliable platform capabilities
- Actively participate in our team's engineering culture through code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing

About You
You are a skilled and enthusiastic engineer with a passion for building robust data solutions. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to grow your skills and make a tangible impact.
- You have hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines and contributing to shared data platform services
- You are proficient with some of the technologies in our stack, such as event-streaming (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub), data warehousing, and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow)
- You are a collaborative team player who enjoys sharing knowledge, participating in code reviews, and learning from your peers
- You have a problem-solving mindset and keep up-to-date with the latest technologies
- You have an interest in crypto and enjoy fast paced environments
