We are looking for a detail-oriented Software Test Engineer to validate and verify advanced control algorithms for energy management in residential HVAC-E systems. HVAC-E refers to HVAC systems integrated with electrical energy generation, dedicated control systems, specialized wiring, and other electrical components essential to their operation. Testing is a critical part of our high-quality standards, and you will play a key role in strengthening our model-based validation and verification processes.

Your responsibilities:

  • Test complex control algorithms for energy management solutions at system, integration and unit level.
  • Design, develop, and automate our testing processes and our test infrastructure for MiL, SiL, and HiL environments.
  • Support the project team with all operational activities along the test process, e.g. specify, automate and execute test cases.
  • Plan, organize and execute test and verification activities according to the test strategy, prepare and report test results including quality metrics to the project team.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues from different departments as project managers, test and requirements engineers.
  • Maintain and update a dedicated test specification.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferable in the field of electronics, automation & controls, computer science or any comparable course of studies.
  • Experience with model-based software development using MATLAB/Simulink for testing in MiL and HiL environments.
  • Familiarity with electric energy systems and energy management is a strong plus.
  • Experience with object-oriented design and additional programming languages as Python and C++ are a plus.
  • Experience with CI/CD workflows, especially using Jenkins and git.
  • Very good written and spoken English skills, German language skills are a plus.
  • Readiness for occasional, late afternoon meetings due to align with US colleagues.
  • Feeling comfortable working in agile development methodologies.
  • Team Player: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
