We are looking for a Software Developer with expertise in control systems and machine learning to design, implement, and optimize energy management solutions for advanced HVAC-E systems in the residential market. HVAC-E refers to HVAC systems integrated with electrical energy generation, dedicated control systems, specialized wiring, and other electrical components essential to operation.
Your responsibilities:
- Analyse product and system requirements specific to energy management solutions for thermal and electrical energy systems.
- Specify, design, implement and test control and machine learning algorithms for energy management solutions.
- Develop and optimize control and machine learning algorithms, leveraging field data from running HVAC-E systems.
- Validate and verify your algorithms throughout the development with Model-in-the-Loop simulations and experiments.
- Support test and requirement engineers with the specification of test concepts and cases that are carried out on system, integration and unit level.
- Maintain clear, high-quality documentation of all deliverables.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferable in the field of electronics, automation & controls, mechatronics or system engineering.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in the field outlined by the tasks above.
- Hands-on experience with the design of control and/or machine learning algorithms (model predictive control, optimization, reinforcement learning, forecasting).
- Strong familiarity with model-based design and object-oriented programming.
- Very good with MATLAB/Simulink, experience with Python and C++ is a plus.
- Experience with CI/CD workflows, especially using Jenkins.
- Very good written and spoken English skills.
- Readiness for occasional, late afternoon meetings due to align with US colleagues.
- Feeling comfortable working in agile development methodologies.
- Team Player: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
