Ajax Systems is an international technology company and Europe's largest developer and manufacturer of Ajax security systems with smart home capabilities. It's a complete ecosystem of 180 devices, mobile and desktop applications, and server infrastructure. Every year, we demonstrate exponential growth in both team size and user numbers worldwide. Currently, the company has over 4,100 employees, and Ajax sensors protect 4 million users in more than 187 countries.

The Device Department is responsible for developing security and automation devices, tackling significant challenges in areas such as:

  • Low-Power: Devices must operate for the longest possible time on standard batteries.
  • Cost of Goods Sold: Mass-produced products must remain in the mid-price segment.
  • DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFH (Design for Human): Circuit design, enclosures, and other elements must be easily reproducible in hundreds of thousands of devices at production without compromising quality.

Development primarily focuses on STM32 (but also includes other MCUs and SoCs), using Embedded C. We have already assembled strong expertise and talented individuals among Hardware and Embedded C engineers, industrial designers, and mechanical engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop circuit design solutions and printed circuit boards (PCBs) for new Ajax devices.
  • Work on improving existing Ajax devices.
  • Select component replacements, including documenting the necessary tests.
  • Perform initial verification and debugging of prototypes (bring-up).
  • Bring projects to mass production (10,000+ units per month).

Requirements:

  • Device circuit design: calculating circuit elements, performing device operation simulations.
  • PCB design using Altium Designer.
  • Device design considering certification requirements (LVD, EMC).
  • Device design considering mass production requirements.
  • Low-power device design.
  • Networked device design (230 VAC).
  • Device cost optimization (component base unification, alternative component sourcing).
  • Prototype debugging, identifying and resolving device issues.
  • Preparing documentation for PCB manufacturing and assembly.
  • Working with version control systems (git).
  • English language proficiency sufficient for reading accompanying documentation.

Will be a plus:

  • Experience with supply chain management for large-volume production (10,000+ units per month).
  • Experience in creating embedded software for modern platforms (STM32, etc.), sufficient for debugging one's own developments.
  • Understanding of signal integrity / power integrity principles in device design, as well as experience in modeling/characterizing topologies (S-parameters, PDN impedance).

What you will get:

  • The opportunity to propose and implement your own ideas that impact the product and production.
  • Work in a motivated team with a zero-bullshit culture.
  • Competitive salary.
  • Medical insurance.
  • Corporate English language courses.
  • Compensation for professional training.
  • Opportunity to participate in the beta testing project of Ajax security systems—receiving and testing new gadgets before their release.
