We're inviting professionals from around the world to join our mission and contribute to the future of mRNA medicines.

This Warsaw-based role is a unique opportunity to shape the next generation of Moderna’s internal software platforms. You will operate at the intersection of platform engineering and web development, helping to design and deliver reusable frameworks and tooling solutions that accelerate Moderna’s software development lifecycle. In this role, you will collaborate directly with other developers (Builders) to understand their needs, drive high-impact platform capabilities, and contribute foundational components that make developing applications at Moderna easier, faster, and more reliable.

The right candidate will go beyond executing on tickets—they will take true ownership of their work, constantly strive for quality and maintainability, and help drive a culture of technical excellence across the platform. This is a highly visible opportunity to work on critical platform capabilities, gain exposure to AWS and CI/CD infrastructure, and be part of a broader digital transformation effort leveraging Generative AI tooling in development workflows.

Here’s What You’ll Do

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Designing and developing new features and components in a scalable, extensible way.

  • Building software frameworks and tools that are intuitive, well-documented, and easy to use by other developers.

  • Enhancing developer experience by streamlining tooling and infrastructure.

  • Creating and maintaining AWS-based infrastructure for web applications.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Writing clear, effective documentation to support adoption and usability of frameworks and tools.

  • Continuously improving development workflows by applying CI/CD best practices.

  • Maintaining code health through thoughtful enhancements, refactors, and deprecations.

  • Applying balanced decision-making to optimize for performance, maintainability, and user value.

  • Staying informed on latest trends in web engineering, cloud infrastructure, and developer tooling—particularly in areas related to automation and Generative AI integration.

The key Moderna Mindsets you’ll need to succeed in the role:

  • “We behave like owners. The solutions we’re building go beyond any job description.”This role requires someone who takes full ownership—not only of their code, but of developer experience outcomes. You’ll be expected to identify opportunities, drive them to completion, and act as a proactive advocate for quality across the platform.

  • “We digitize everywhere possible using the power of code to maximize our impact on patients.”You will play a direct role in enhancing Moderna’s software development landscape, contributing automation, frameworks, and infrastructure that improve efficiency, enable innovation, and accelerate delivery—all with the ultimate goal of impacting patient outcomes.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications):

  • 7+ years of experience in modern full-stack web application development.

  • Experience in JavaScript/TypeScript.

  • Experience with AWS or another cloud provider for deploying and managing applications.

  • Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
