Python Developer (Bioinformatics)

• Develop, test, and maintain backend services in Python and Django for genomics and bioinformatics pipelines (NGS).
• Build and optimize scalable solutions on AWS (EC2, S3) and HPC environments using BDS and Bash.
• Automate complex data-processing workflows, ensuring high performance across tens of thousands of CPUs.
• Implement and validate data analysis tools and pipelines with Pytest, SQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Integrate RESTful APIs and manage data storage and retrieval.
• Collaborate on frontend features using React, TypeScript, and JSON Schema forms (RJSF), with Playwright for end-to-end testing.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions and maintain version control with Git.

We are looking for  an experienced Python Developer to join our innovative biomedical team, which is driving precision oncology research through cutting-edge data science. You will work independently, yet with guidance from experienced colleagues, to build and maintain scalable bioinformatics pipelines and applications for next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis, machine learning–driven insights and statistical modelling. All of this work is focused on uncovering biomarkers and improving cancer treatment decisions. A can-do attitude, scientific curiosity and availability to start immediately are major pluses!

• A degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
• 4+ years of professional experience as a Python Developer, ideally in bioinformatics, genomics, or medical projects;
• Solid skills in Django, SQL databases, and writing performant Bash scripts;
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices (pref. GitHub Actions) and automated testing (pref. Pytest, Playwright);
• Fluent in English, with the ability to work in an international team;
• Located in Poland to facilitate occasional team meetings.

Moreover, we appreciate skills in these areas:

• Frontend experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React;
• Proven ability to deploy and manage workloads on AWS and/or HPC clusters;
