Responsibilities:

  • Design, write, test, and optimize Assembler code for mainframe systems.
  • Maintain and enhance legacy Assembler applications to meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate Assembler components with COBOL/Java applications.
  • Optimize system performance using tools like IBM RMF and OMEGAMON.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues using advanced debugging tools.
  • Mentor junior developers and lead knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Contribute to system modernization strategies and decisions.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in Assembler (HLASM) programming and mainframe systems (IBM z/OS, MVS, CICS, DB2).
  • Experience with performance tools (IBM Debug Tool, Abend-AID, OMEGAMON).
  • Strong knowledge of memory management and system programming.
  • Experience integrating Assembler with COBOL, PL/I, or Java.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
  • 7+ years of experience in Assembler development, with at least 5 years in mainframe systems.
  • IBM Certified System Programmer and z/OS Mastery Certifications are a plus.
