Position – how you’ll contribute:

We are seeking an experienced COBOL software developer with knowledge of Java and DB2 technologies. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust COBOL applications, integrating Java components, and ensuring seamless interaction with DB2 databases. Your work will directly contribute to the enhancement of business-critical systems, optimizing performance, and ensuring scalability in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Expectations – the experience you need:

- 4+ years of hands-on experience in developing and maintaining COBOL applications

- Expertise in COBOL, JCL, CICS, and batch programming on mainframe systems

- Familiarity with Java for developing additional modules or services

- Knowledge of how Java and COBOL systems interact and integrate

- Strong experience in writing efficient SQL queries for DB2 databases

- Familiarity with database schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning in DB2

- Experience working with IBM z/OS or other mainframe environments

- Knowledge of mainframe tools like TSO, ISPF, and SDSF

- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)

- Experience with CI/CD tools, automated build systems, and release management

- A systems thinking approach and a critical mindset

- Experience working in Scrum/Kanban agile environments

- Strong communication skills (written and spoken) in English

- Experience working within the aviation industry, with a deep understanding of its systems and processes

- Familiarity with industry-standard aviation messaging formats, including the Standard Schedules Information Manual (SSIM), Standard Schedules Message (SSM), and Ad-hoc Schedules Message (ASM)
