💡Project Description:

In this role, you'll contribute to a banking app for a leading financial group in Japan. The app serves as a cross-asset post-trade execution platform, integrating with third-party services for trade matching and settlement. It efficiently handles large volumes of trade data and offers features like a Trade Blotter and position reporting. While new features are continually added, the core product is already established.

In this project you will be contributing to backends of two apps. One application is used by internal users to upload and publish documents. External users use the second application to access published documents and statistics regarding the client's domain. The application components are running on a virtual machine in AWS in docker.

📈 Your Responsibilities:

A very large part of the application is written on the database side in the form of functions, triggers, views, tables, etc. Daily tasks when developing the application include:

• Adding/modifying existing tables, views, functions, etc. databases to display appropriate data for the front-end
• Working on new functionalities in Python
• Participating in planning, design, testing, and code review
• Building rapid prototypes and working on fast-paced projects
• Working effectively within a cross-functional multi-site team
• Providing recommendations for continuous improvement

📌 Recruitment process:

• 30 minute screening call online with our recruiter
• 1 hour technical call with our Python developer
• 1 hour interview with the project lead

🔑 Key Requirements:

• Advanced English in speaking and writing (you will be working with international clients only)
• 5+ years of commercial experience in Python
• Vast experience with PostgreSQL (materialized views, triggers, isolation levels, etc.)
• Good knowledge of database performance issues, indexes and the SQL language itself
• Familiarity with Object-oriented programming
• Comprehensive understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools and systems

➕Nice to have: 

• Familiarity with Linux operating systems is a plus
• Experience working with Docker would be beneficial
