This role will be based in Glasgow
To be successful as a Cloud Platform Engineer, you should have experience with; * AWS (networking/compute/storage), ECS/Kubernetes/OpenShift, CI/CD, IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), and building highly available multi-AZ systems * Databricks (Spark), Python/Spark development, large-scale data pipelines, and workflow orchestration (Airflow) * SRE/DevOps practices, model deployment/monitoring, and considerable security/compliance (IAM, secrets management, PII protection)
Some other highly valued skills may include * Exposure to data streaming and messaging systems such as Apache Kafka, and experience integrating streaming data pipelines with batch processing systems. * Familiarity with deploying and managing microservices and web applications (Java backends, React frontends) on container platforms (ECS, Kubernetes). * Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Amazon RDS), including basic administration, performance tuning, and data backup/recovery strategies.
