What is this role about?

As Engineering Manager, you’ll make sure infrastructure stays a couple of steps ahead of our ambitious growth plans. You’ll take full ownership: discovery of needs, design, implementation, capacity planning, budgeting, and so on. You’ll be encouraged to work with best technologies, apply industry best practices and automate the tedious.

You’ll enjoy a high degree of ownership, diverse set of problems (cloud, developer experience, databases, provisioning etc.) and an environment that values problem-solving and collaboration.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Build a reliable platform for our products, making sure that up-time, monitoring and recovery meet up to the modern standard.
  • Standardized and automate infrastructure tasks so that engineers are able to self-serve and benefit from best practices
  • Build a developer experience that allows to ship without friction, confidently and daily, making best practices available to teams through tooling and automation.
  • Take ownership of the platform infrastructure budget; managing capacity and cost efficiency.
  • Be the topmost coach and expert in all matters infrastructure at Bondora.

What you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in leading engineering teams
  • Good understanding of cloud systems design and architecture
  • Good knowledge of Azure (preferred) or other major cloud provider setup and services
  • Strong understanding of metrics, logging, tracing, and tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK, OpenTelemetry
  • Ability to read/write code in languages like Python plus automation with Bash or similar
  • Understanding of networking and security fundamentals
  • Bonus
    • Experience in a regulated space, preferably Finance/Credit
    • Experience provisioning with Terraform
