Experience 

  • Minimum 3 full implementations of Workday (HCM) with Phase X experience with multiple companies.  
  • 4-6 years of hands-on configuration experience with Workday Core HCM, Payroll, and Time off plans for payroll integrations with third-party vendors (e.g., ADP, UKG, etc) across multiple deployments, especially international payroll systems.  
  • Experience developing Workday custom reports, Payroll dashboards, calculated fields, condition rules. 
  • Knowledge of Workday implementation tools (Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Studio, Workday Report Writer, and iLoad). 
  • Knowledge of how Web Services and APIs (WSDL, SOAP, REST) work with integrations and PECI connectors work with payroll vendors like ADP and their various payroll products. 
  • Experience with Workday Payroll administrative functions including but not limited to tenant, business process and security and access control configurations (including role-based access control and data privacy), data loads, and payroll processes. 

Qualifications & Skills 

  • Must be certified in Workday HCM, Payroll, Time Tracking and Absence Management. 
  • Enthusiastic about solving complex problems. 
  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment and Agile framework. 

Responsibilities

Overview

  • Participate in the Global Payroll Transformation project, and as a key member of the cross-functional project team, will provide Workday expertise regarding hands-on system design to ensure a successful implementation 
  • Responsible for performing hands-on functional configuration, specifically Workday Payroll, which includes Absence & Leaves and Time Entry modules. 
  • Understand and learn core processes of HR Operations and understand technology capabilities of Workday and complementary systems to optimize business processes and functions. 
  • This role will be dedicated to this project that has the goal of building a scalable and well controlled payroll process in each country we operate, leveraging Workday as the source of truth for global payroll inputs. 
  • Bring effective application knowledge, project management, and delivery approaches to implementation and operations projects. 

 Configurations  

  • Configure Workday platform based on best solution for a Global Core HCM, Payroll, Absence & Leaves, and Time Tracking configuration, including review, clean-up, and creation of new pay components and calculations. 
  • Determine, document, prioritize, and develop system enhancements. 
  • Identify Security Role assignments for new users and review existing users’ Security Role assignments while ensuring proper internal controls. 
  • Review new functionality to determine impact on existing processes. 
  • Assist integrations team to solution issues with external payroll provider(s) and resolve integration errors. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external implementation partner's technical team 
  • Provide break/fix solutions, recommend/implement new functionality, and process improvements, and ensure smooth integrations with other 3rd party systems. 

Analysis of Requirements and Consultation 

  • Partners with COE’s to document and understand requirements; including business requirements, use cases / user stories, functional requirements, configuration requirements, data and reporting requirements, test case development. 
  • Perform analysis of existing business processes design and identify and evaluate possible re-configuration/solutions in response to business issues and challenges. 
  • Consultative approach to feasibility of requirements and expectations and advise on system capabilities to meet business goals. 
  • Create detailed integration specifications, field mappings, designs, and migration documentation support. 
  • Process improvement through knowledge of requirements and scale for subsequent stages of implementation or improvement. 

Matching Day-to-Day Workday Functionality with Business Needs 

  • Building additional functionalities, developing dashboards, setting up special workflow rules, or changing user interfaces.  
  • Expertise in business procedures, workflows, and Workday modules for best platform solutions. 
  • Custom report building with skills in advanced report capabilities and building composite, matrix and Worksheet reports. 

Data Management 

  • Document system configurations and workflows of Workday tenants. 
  • Producing EIB’s with accurate data and testing outcomes for accuracy. 
  • Ensure data integrity throughout the transfer process, troubleshoot migration-related problems, and validate and verify data once it has been entered into Workday.  

Education and support for users 

  • Conduct end-user training and consultation for adoption on Workday functionality.  
  • Plan training sessions, collaborate on training materials, and deliver practical instruction in various modules.  
  • Post go-live support with responding to user questions, resolving technical problems, and helping with advanced tasks.  
  • Work closely with the payroll team to ensure that they are well prepared for new functionalities/ modules go-live. 
  • Assist COEs with system/process questions (Tier 1 support). 
  • Assist with creation of Workday ‘How To’ guides and other Knowledge Base resources as needed. 

UAT (User Acceptance Testing) 

  • Identify test scenarios, develop test scripts, and assist users participating in user acceptance testing. 
  • Thoroughly test new/modified configuration, business processes or reports to ensure results meet end-users needs. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues encountered by users.  
  • Perform regression test scenarios. 

Risk & Controls  

  • Create any enhancements not in scope for backlog of future system configurations.  
  • Understand and follow Data Governance and ensure attention to data quality, defined integration/development standards and best practices, security and data privacy standards, and segregation of duties.
