Technical Product Manager (Embedded)

Our team consists of nine dedicated members working on Anjay, a client library for the LwM2M protocol. Anjay is a highly portable and efficient solution for device management, widely utilized across various industries. Our primary coding language is C99, complemented by modern C++ and Python where feasible. We also maintain Java bindings and sample code to ensure comprehensive support for different platforms. As a self-organizing team, we prioritize getting things done and effective ad-hoc communication, supplemented by Scrum practices to maintain organization.

Responsibilies

• Develop and execute product strategies for the SDK client in collaboration with the IoT Product Team and other crucial stakeholders, focusing on market trends, competitive analysis, and customer needs specific to IoT deployments.
• Formulate proper problem statements and propose a potential solution to the problem (product added value).
• Write product specification (i.e., a document explaining the identified problem and a proposed solution).
• Define and manage the product roadmap, outlining key milestones and development timelines.
• Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and design to deployment and optimization.
• Conduct thorough market research to identify new product opportunities, validating ideas and iterative development.
• Collaborate with product marketing, sales, and presales teams to ensure cohesive product positioning and effective go to market strategies.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership in the development of LwM2M SDK, ensuring alignment with the overall product vision and strategic goals.
• Act as a bridge between technical and business teams, translating complex technical requirements into actionable product specifications.
• Ensure that the product meets high standards of quality, security, and performance through rigorous testing and validation processes.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, particularly in embedded systems, IoT device management, and wireless connectivity.
• Lead the exploration phase to identify new opportunities by engaging closely with users, conducting market research, and utilizing data analytics to understand user needs and behaviors.
• Formulate proper problem statements and propose potential solutions, ensuring that the identified problems are relevant and significant.
• Facilitate workshops and collaborate with stakeholders to brainstorm and validate new product ideas.

• Strong technical background, with handson experience in embedded software development (>3 years).
• Experience in product management/ product owner roles with a focus on embedded systems and IoT.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and delivering high quality products in a fast paced environment.
• Demonstrated experience in product discovery, from ideation through to validation and implementation.
• Experience in collaborating with cross functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to deliver cohesive product solutions.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects effectively, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and deadlines.
• Excellent problem solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing technical and business challenges.

Nice to have

• Experience working with IoT products, including device management, connectivity solutions, and security protocols.
• Familiarity with IoT communication protocols, data analytics, and cloud integration.
