Join the Commercial & Strategic Intelligence team within the Procurement Strategy and Operational Excellence to facilitate practical insights to support category excellence, drive improved business decision-making capabilities, prevent supply chain risks, and find opportunities to create additional value.

JOB ROLE

As a Procurement Data Analytics Manager, you will be responsible for working closely with the Global Procurement function to assess, support and develop a data-driven approach to how we manage our operation.

  • This will include but is not limited to ensuring that Global Procurement’s core data, such as Spend, Forecast, Risk etc., is managed, accurate and translated into actionable insights for the function to execute against. Core stakeholder groups will include the Procurement Leadership team, Global Category Teams, Strategy and Operational Excellence, and colleagues in IT and Finance.
  • The role will closely work with finance and the broader Strategy and Operational Excellence team to support the Business Planning cycle to ensure Procurement can accurately support the forecasting and budgeting setting process across AstraZeneca.
  • This role will also work closely with the Digital Procurement team to ensure that data and performance reporting are extracted from core systems accurately and that we also use the data to continuously improve the digital platforms we have in place.

TYPICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Designing, improving and managing the core data that supports One Procurement Reporting and Performance Management.
  • Play a pivotal role in delivering the data and insight in support of the Business planning process /analytics (MTP).
  • Dashboard creation and insight generation leveraging core datasets as well as looking to bring in external data where applicable.
  • Leads the development, tracking and reporting of key department performance and compliance metrics to a variety of business audiences.
  • Responsible for planning, building, and maintaining analytics solutions for ONEProcurement.  Ability to apply technical knowledge of databases and programming (in R, Python, etc.) to create solutions with real-world data.
  • Proactively seeks to drive category/supplier/spend opportunities through data analysis, including partnering closely with Procurement Stakeholders and Business Stakeholders.
  • Defines and maintains data management standards to ensure the delivery of consistent, accurate business analysis and metrics for key department activities, including: Spend categorization, assessments; Financial risk reviews; Compliance reporting
  • Assists cross-functional sourcing project teams through all key project phases, such as requirements gathering, strategy development, RFx, award recommendation, contract negotiation and supplier implementation.
  • Identify business improvement opportunities within large data sets that may be internal, external or market-driven.
  • Work with Procurement and Business stakeholders to build and maintain strategic analytical programs/applications to implement business solutions.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

Business experience

  • Exceptional track record of data-driven analysis
  • Demonstrated expertise in:
  • Manipulating large datasets & extrapolating insights

- Microsoft Excel / Microsoft Access

- Power Bi Experience (additional BI experience also applicable, such as Qlik, Tableau, Microstrategy etc.)

- SQL / Python / R

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, problem-solving, communication, and professional interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable translating data and insights to Senior Executives
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong Program implementation credibility.
  • 5-7 years applicable Procurement or Finance Operations experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Demonstrated leadership/management and business partnership skills
  • Strong communication, cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills
  • Exceptional track record driving Procurement’s value proposition
  • Supplier Relationship Management and Development experience
  • Ability to leverage a range of influencing techniques
  • Proven ability to manage change
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Ability to work in a highly complex and fluid environment

DESIRABLE:

  • Advanced degree (such as an MBA, MS, JD)
