The global AI and Analytics - Imaging group under Production Informatics delivers software tools, ready-to-use deep learning-based image analysis and a deep learning framework for the analyses of digital pathology images across client's primary areas of focus in Oncology. The group develops cutting-edge capabilities to facilitate computational advances in finding cures for cancer.


You will focus on developing web application for cutting-edge image analysis software, driving automation and defining workflow standards by supporting the drug project teams impacting AZ drug pipelines. To do this you will:

  • Develop high-quality, scalable, robust, and well-tested web applications.

  • Work in a multi-disciplinary set up spanning pathology, bioinformatics and translational medicine to understand their scientific and technical challenges and proactively impact these.

  • Develop infrastructure to apply statistical, analytical, ML and AI methodologies to large image datasets.

  • Design state-of-the-art architectures


Relevant M. Sc, or equivalent graduate degree

  • Web frontend and backend
  • Multiple programming languages, including JavaScript (Typescript, NodeJS)
  • Databases (SQL and No-SQL)
  • Unix
  • Best practices in software development methodologies
  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS preferred).

Understanding or background on image processing

  • Kubernetes
  • Experience in regulatory environments
