You'll be working in a multi-disciplined, jointly funded team that specialises in rapid tooling and automation for multiple transformation programs. The Migration & Transformation team provides change capability for Application Remediation, Infrastructure Migration and End User Migration services within the Group Technology organization. The purpose of Migration & Transformation is to reduce technical debt, and associated risk, from the legacy technology estate - enabling adoption to the next generation cloud ready platforms and cloud service offerings. The Migration & Transformation team works on large scale, repeatable type activities across multiple lines of business.

We're looking for a Cloud Engineer to:

  • develop, maintain, and support Azure pipelines
  • migrate and transform our existing infrastructure to Azure native services
  • support migration tooling and automation for multiple infrastructure and end user programs
  • provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new requirements and initiatives to enhance our existing products
  • conduct code reviews and test software as needed, along with participating in application architecture and design and other phases of SDLC
  • see that proper operational controls and procedures are implemented to move from test to production
  • believe in and enforce high standards for code quality, code reviews, testing, and software engineering best practices
  • keep up to date with latest development best practices and proactively manage technical debt


Your expertise

  • containers and container orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes and Helm
  • knowledge of Azure Data Factory
  • knowledge of AKV/EVA and Azure authentication
  • proven dev experience with Python 3.9+ or C#, .NET Core 3.1+
  • must be experienced with git and CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitLab and/or Azure DevOps
  • familiar with scrum methodology
  • release processes and automation of releases (GitLab CI/CD, puppet)
  • T-SQL
  • PostgreSQL, Powershell, bash
  • experience within the financial sector and a record of working across the full software development lifecycle
  • self-motivated, pragmatic, excellent communicator
